The guy

No gravestone… just a marker

An unknown guy died

It wasn’t in the papers

Because he was no one.
His life was short

Non descript, average

A man of the road

A man without kin
The coroner’s assistant

Uncovered a life

That posed no threat

And had no celebrity
He died on Monday

Buried &marked

The same week

No one noticed

No one mourned

really, really, really

Tallulah made adjustments

to the polaroid on the wall

As she spoke to Buddy Rose

on her cell  by the door

they chatted about the weather

the football and all the soaps

they mentioned their children

and Buddy’s grandchildren too.

it wasn’t till Buddy asked of Tally’s bloke

that Tallulah faltered her reply

he’s working, he’s playing

he’s driving and he’s selling

Some time later Buddy appeared

at the door of Tallulah’s home

the slumped body of her bloke

under the snaps on the wall

Care

Lord, OGod

How do you care?

How do you love us Lord?

Lord O God

Lord O God

The only good thing

We worship you today

In our words and

In our deeds

In our very thoughts today

Glory to the King of kings this day

Honour to the Lord of lords

God of power

God of strength

We worship you today
Lord O God

Come search our hearts today

Come show us where we moving east

Come show us where you want for us to move
We send love back to you

As we join together with you

In your divine mission

Lord O God

Your love is everything.

Shame Encountered

Painful reality

Isolating raw nerves

Self sabotaging track

Keep a moat of distance

Another stone in the castle wall

I just wanna be like you guys

I wanna blend in

I wanna be the same

But yet again – that’s not the plan

It has taken me years to work through

How unique I have been made

And each day I learn new ways

That peculiarly and particular

I met a guy today, so hurt

I wanted to reach out and be

Exposed and vulnerable to help

Him rid his overwhelming shame

Painful reality

Isolating raw nerves

Self sabotaging track

Keep a moat of distance

Another stone in the castle wall
